A beautiful antique print that brings together two atmospheric views of the Devon coast: Teignmouth above and the waters of Hamoaze below. Beneath the image, the print is inscribed 'Drawn & Etched by S. Prout', with a further inscription recording its publication by Thomas Palser in London on 30th July 1811. Sailing boats, distant shorelines and small figures are etched in delicate detail. The work is associated with an early collection of Prout's West Country landscapes, featuring the towns, waterways and rural scenery of Devon and Cornwall. The generous proportions, coastal scenes and softly aged paper give the piece a sense of history and character that only comes with age.
Please note, antique prints may show light foxing or age-related marks. These natural signs of age are part of their history and contribute to the character and authenticity of every piece.
