Job Title: E-commerce Store Assistant

Location: In Studio 5 days a week

Reports to: Store Manager

Employment Type: Full-time  

House Nine Design is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented E-commerce Store Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our online store. This is a full-time, in-house role working closely with the Store Manager to ensure a seamless customer experience, accurate product listings, and smooth order fulfilment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in interiors, design, and online retail, with excellent organisational skills and a customer-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service

  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries via email and other channels
  • Provide knowledgeable support regarding products, availability, delivery, and aftercare
  • Review and respond to Trade account enquiries
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and brand representation

Order Processing & Fulfilment

  • Process online orders accurately and efficiently
  • Pick, pack and dispatch orders of in-stock items
  • Place orders with suppliers and raise POs
  • Work with our delivery partners to coordinate the delivery of made-to-order furniture
  • Handle returns and exchanges in line with company policy
  • Monitor order issues and escalate where necessary

Stock & Admin Support

  • Assist with stock control and inventory updates
  • Manage the sample inventory, maintaining good availability
  • Liaise with the Store Manager on stock discrepancies and reordering needs
  • Receive incoming deliveries of stock
  • Support with keeping the stock room organised and functional
  • Support general e-commerce administration

E-commerce & Website Support

  • Assist with the daily running of the House Nine Design online store
  • Maintain accurate product listings, including descriptions, pricing, imagery, and stock levels
  • Ensure all product information is accurate, consistent, and aligned with brand standards
  • Support with seasonal updates, new launches, and promotional activity on the website

Brand & Team Support

  • Work closely with the Store Manager to support overall store performance
  • Uphold House Nine Design’s brand values, tone of voice, and visual standards
  • Assist with ad-hoc tasks and projects related to the growth of the online store

Skills and experience:

Essential

  • Experience in customer service, online retail, or in a similar role
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Confident written communication skills
  • A genuine interest in interiors, design, or lifestyle retail
  • Ability to multitask and work to deadlines

Desirable

  • Comfortable working with e-commerce platforms (e.g. Shopify or similar)
  • Experience with product photography coordination or basic image handling
  • Experience in a premium or design-led retail brand
